Superlab Pro software description
SuperLab Pro is an experimental lab software for building experiments, running them on subjects, and collecting data. You can use it to build most types of experiments that require presenting visual stimuli on the screen, auditory stimuli via speakers, controlling or synchronizing with lab equipment such as fMRI, EEG, shutters, and so forth. The collected data, which includes reaction time, is saved in text-only file which can be read by almost all spreadsheet or statistics software. Superlab Pro is the top in experimental psychology.

A trial can contain any number of events. For example, you can create a trial where a sound begins to play, and while it's playing, a visual stimulus is presented. Or, you can present a cue followed by a stimulus and a mask. Blocks can contain any number of trials. These trials can be presented in a pre-defined sequence or at random.
Events in SuperLab Pro provide the experimental designer with lots of
options. Events can present text (Windows version only), picture files,
or sound files. They can even send pulses out from an I/O card. As for
input from the subject, an event can be ended based on a response or
elapsed time. After the subject has responded, events can provide a
feedback based on whether the response is correct or not, or whether
the reaction time is too quick or too slow.
A unique feature of SuperLab Pro is its ability to create codes and
give them values. For example, with a few mouse clicks you can create a
code named "difficulty" and then give it three values named "easy",
"medium", and "hard". Once created, one of the three values can be
attached to a trial. After you run an experiment, the collected data
file will contain one line for every response by the subject, and this
line will include all the code values that you have attached to the
trial. In essence, your data comes out pre-coded.
Further, the new SuperLab Pro provides the first of planned Internet
and workgroup features. It allows you to email an entire experiment to
a colleague straight from within the program. Further, you can now
compress and store your SuperLab Pro file and all the picture and sound
files used in the experiment in just one single file. This makes it
much easier to share an experiment with a colleague or to move an
experiment around computers in your lab.
Response Pads: RB Series
The popular RB Series response pads, now into its fourth generation,
includes four models with different key layouts. They work on either a
Mac or a PC. They offer a range of features including built-in reaction
time measurement, reliability, and ease of use. Our customers spoke, we
listened. The current USB-based, RB-x30 models represent the fourth
generation of response pads in this series. All the improvements are
based on customer feedback. The result is high quality, ergonomic, and
practical response pads. Your satisfaction is guaranteed.
The RB Series models are smart devices. They measure the participant's
reaction time in hardware and provide additional timing facilities for
the stimulus presentation program. In addition, these models are fairly
universal, meaning that they are compatible with nearly all the leading
stimulus presentation programs on the market. Available models: RB-530,
RB-630, RB-730, RB-830, and RB-834 (see below).

Lumina fMRI system
The Lumina LP-400 is a patient response system designed specifically
for use in an fMRI environment. The system consists of several
components including the pads, controller, and over 40 meters (140
feet) of cables. Lumina was developed to satisfy the requirements of
both the clinical and research fields. It is compatible with most of
the leading software packages on the market and interfaces easily with
a number of third party hardware devices as well.
The Lumina LP-400 system includes two fiber optic response pads, each
with two colored push buttons. They are built of 100% plastic and fiber
optic parts, magnetically and RF inert, water resistant, delivered with
right hand and left hand versions, and safe (no laser lights are used).
Special site Experimental Psychology
In 2008, Science Plus Group created a special European website for all
relevant software packages in the field of Experimental Psychology. Interested? Please have a look at www.experimentalpsychology.nl
